Family breaks

Whatever ‘family’ means to you, everyone will thrive together, side by side…

Accessible adventure breaks for the whole family

“I’m actually quite emotional thinking of the fantastic time we had at Calvert Devon and the lovely people we have met. The weekend really couldn’t have gone any better.”

Finding somewhere accessible to go on a family adventure that will keep everyone entertained could be a real challenge, with some members of the family watching from the side or missing out altogether – but not at Calvert Devon.

We all want you to have an experience that’s fun, stimulating and full of great memories, and we truly believe that everyone should take part no matter what; age and ability aren’t a barrier.

Our specialist equipment and accessible facilities enable the whole family to enjoy adventure activities together regardless of past experience or perceived barriers.

Expect a full programme of activities for all to enjoy, accommodation around the beautiful courtyard, quality meals, specialist accessible equipment if required, dedicated staff and use of all on-site facilities including the swimming pool.

Come for a two, three, four or seven night break and be sure of a warm welcome and an opportunity to do things side by side, as a family!

If you’d like to talk with a friendly person about a family break, please don’t hesitate to get in contact. We’ll be happy to help.

The accommodation is based around a communal garden courtyard for easy access to dining areas and essential facilities including laundry and drying rooms. You’ll also have our housekeeping team on hand, incase you need them.

Enjoy hot meals in the dining room and conservatory, freshly prepared and served by friendly chefs who incorporate dietary requirements and special requests provided when booking.

Evening entertainment and helpful facilities

On arrival, the team will greet you and your family, give a tour and answer questions to ensure a smooth first night. They will also be a key part of making sure that, after a great day, the enjoyment continues into the evenings.

Possible options could include but are not limited to:

The benefits of visiting as a family

We see it time and time again, taking part in adventure activities together as a family improves communication, personal skills, and belief in each other. Breaks create magically personal moments that mean the world to everyone.

Families are unique, but Calvert Devon family breaks provide an equal opportunity to talk and bond whilst meeting new people and sharing experiences.

Whatever your family group looks like, a stay with us means enjoying adventurous fun together while also mixing with other children and adults in a safe and supportive environment.

The sense of achievement can also provide a huge boost of confidence and self-esteem to people with disabilities and has a positive effect on their lives beyond their stay.
